Great opportunity to be a part of our growing Farnborough Service Center. We are adding in Landing Gear Techs to join our back shop. Ideal candidates will possess the below:

  • Using basic hand skills & tool
  • Experience blending / hand finishing / grinding prefereable. So someone with machining experience is a an option also

Education and Experience Requirements
Other GCSE required. Must possess basic mechanical skills, including the use of hand tools. Experience in one of the following or other related experience: Sheetmetal, hydraulic, Landing Gear, Wheel, Brake overhaul. Position Purpose:Repair, overhaul and certify aircraft Landing Gear, Subassemblies and Components, in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Responsible for complying with all corporate or local company procedures .
  2. Setting up, operating and cleaning all the necessary Landing Gear equipment and tooling .
  3. Ensure all work performed is in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data .
  4. Maintain and utilize all required. paperwork in accordance with regulatory and company requirements .
  5. Conduct preliminary inspection and functional testing to assess components as required.
  6. Disassemble components, remove coatings and clean individual parts in preparation for inspection. Inspect all detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals and other required. maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met. Order necessary parts and/or components.
  7. Perform repairs of aircraft Landing Gear, Subassemblies and Components through removals, repair or replacement of defective parts and/or fabrication of replacement parts, and installations in accordance with blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, On The Job Training (OJT), and other authorized maintenance data. All activities to be in accordance with Repair Station requirements ensuring all parts and assemblies meet conformance.
  8. Reapply applicable coatings to individual parts and reassemble component(s).
  9. Set up and operate necessary test equipment in accordance with required. documentation to perform functional and operational tests for return to service.
  10. Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices including troubleshooting .
  11. Issue an authorized release certificate for components worked under the company component capability listing, must have demonstrated, proven experience to be selected and approved, attend training, pass appropriate exams and through approval by QC department .
  12. Maintain and utilize all required. paperwork in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  13. Maintain a clean and orderly work area including test equipment and peripherals.
  14. Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.
Additional Functions:
  1. Utilize training and tools to effectively troubleshoot complex electrical circuits and or systems during component repair process. .
  2. Complete training and instructing of Acft Component Repair I Techs, must have attended train the trainer course. .
  3. Be flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements. .
  4. Maintain an orderly and productive work environment. .
  5. Assist with routine questions and problems, referring the more complex issues to higher levels. .
  6. Ability to always act in a safe and professional manner. .
  7. Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality. .
  8. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data required. .
  9. Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision. .
  10. Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and co-workers regarding status and shift turnover. .
