Title: Director-Senior Director, Amazon
Reports to: Head of Amazon
Office Location: New York, NY (4 days a week in Office)
Position Overview
The Director of Amazon will be responsible for developing and executing the overall Amazon growth strategy across Seller Central (3P), managing all aspects of the business including revenue growth, advertising, catalog optimization, forecasting, inventory planning, promotions, and channel profitability.
This role requires someone who is equally strategic and executional—comfortable building long-term plans while also diving into the day-to-day details. The ideal candidate has strong beauty or CPG experience, understands consumer behavior on Amazon, and has a proven track record of scaling brands in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Amazon Growth Strategy & Ownership
- Own the full Amazon P&L and drive top-line revenue growth, contribution margin, and channel profitability.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies to scale Amazon as a key growth channel.
- Identify opportunities to grow market share, improve rankings, increase conversion, and expand customer acquisition.
- Build annual, quarterly, and monthly business plans tied to company goals.
- Monitor category trends, competitor activity, pricing shifts, and emerging opportunities.
Seller Central (3P) Management
- Lead all aspects of Amazon Seller Central operations.
- Manage listings, catalog health, inventory availability, suppressed listings, account performance, and compliance.
- Optimize product assortment, variation strategy, bundles, and new product launches.
- Ensure flawless execution of promotions, deals, coupons, and seasonal campaigns.
Amazon Advertising & Performance Marketing
- Oversee Amazon Ads strategy including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP (if applicable), and retargeting efforts.
- Manage advertising budgets and maximize ROAS, TACOS, and incremental growth.
- Continuously test and optimize campaigns, keyword strategy, bidding, and creative performance.
- Partner with creative teams on PDP assets, A+ content, storefronts, and conversion-driving content.
Content, Conversion & Brand Presence
- Improve PDP conversion rates through enhanced content, imagery, SEO, reviews strategy, and merchandising.
- Maintain premium brand presentation across all Amazon touchpoints.
- Lead storefront strategy to improve discovery and customer engagement.
- Ensure all product detail pages are optimized for traffic and conversion.
Forecasting, Inventory & Operations
- Partner with supply chain and operations teams on demand planning and inventory forecasting.
- Prevent stockouts, excess inventory, stranded inventory, and chargebacks.
- Manage replenishment planning aligned with growth targets and promotional calendars.
- Improve operational efficiency across the Amazon channel.
Analytics & Reporting
- Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for revenue, ad performance, profitability, traffic, conversion, and share growth.
- Translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Build dashboards and KPIs to measure channel success.
- Present business performance updates to leadership team.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Finance, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Executive Leadership.
- Influence broader digital and omnichannel strategies through Amazon insights.
- Build scalable processes as the company grows.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 7+ years of eCommerce experience with significant Amazon channel ownership.
- 4+ years managing Amazon Seller Central (3P) business directly.
- Proven success scaling Amazon revenue for a beauty, wellness, CPG, or consumer brand.
- Strong hands-on experience managing Amazon advertising internally (without agency dependence).
- Deep understanding of Amazon algorithm, SEO, conversion levers, promotions, and ranking strategies.
- Experience owning Amazon P&L, forecasting, and margin management.
- Advanced analytical skills with ability to turn data into action.
Preferred Experience
- Beauty, skincare, cosmetics, haircare, or personal care industry experience strongly preferred.
- Startup or high-growth emerging brand experience.
- Experience launching new products successfully on Amazon.
- Familiarity with tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Pacvue, Perpetua, Data Dive, or similar platforms.
- Experience with international Amazon marketplaces is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000 annually based on experience.
