Experience & Qualifications Needed:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Automotive trade or technical school is preferred
- ASE certification is preferred
- 1–3 years of automotive technician experience is required
- Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes, models, and sizes
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, electrical, engine, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and repairs vehicles to specifications, ensuring they are safe to drive by test-driving vehicles, testing components and systems, and using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices
- Examines vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions
- Tears down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings
- Disassembles units and inspects parts for wear using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Rewires ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repairs manual and automatic transmissions
- Closely inspect parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, and other items
- Adequately explains the technical diagnosis and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals
- Follows Company safety policies and practices and immediately reports all accidents to the Manager/Supervisor
- Assists with other duties as assigned
- Follow scheduled hours as needed, defined by your manager
