Job Summary:

The Director of Business Operations is responsible for leading the strategic, financial, and operational performance of a high-performing outpatient surgical facility. This role emphasizes business growth, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate brings a strong business mindset, complemented by healthcare experience, and a proven ability to optimize profitability while maintaining exceptional clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficient, patient-centered workflows across all departments
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance patient experience
  • Partner with clinical leadership to align operational goals with quality and safety standards

Financial Performance & Growth

  • Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, cost management, and revenue cycle optimization
  • Identify and execute growth opportunities, including service line expansion, physician engagement, and market positioning
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement data-driven strategies to improve margins and operational outcomes

Business Strategy & Development

  • Lead strategic planning initiatives focused on sustainable growth and competitive advantage
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and service offerings
  • Foster strong relationships with physicians, stakeholders, and vendors to support business objectives

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, accreditation, and compliance standards
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee risk management initiatives to minimize operational and clinical risks

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing administrative and support team
  • Promote a collaborative environment between business and clinical teams
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures

Quality & Patient Experience

  • Champion initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction, safety, and clinical outcomes
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement improvements where necessary
  • Support accreditation readiness and continuous compliance efforts

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in operations, business management, or a related field
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational metrics
  • Proven ability to drive growth, improve efficiency, and lead organizational change
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Skills:

  • Proficiency in healthcare software systems (e.g., Electronic Health Records (EHR), billing systems).
