Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Supply Technician supports day-to-day warehouse and property accountability operations for NUWCDIVNPT by performing receiving, storage, issuing, kitting, shelf-life management, and on-base delivery activities in Navy ERP and associated government systems. The role ensures materials are processed accurately, safeguarded, and delivered within required timelines while complying with Navy/DoD standards, including handling of hazardous, classified, shelf-life, and SUBSAFE/Level I/DSS-SOC materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Offload, inspect, and verify inbound materials against Navy ERP purchase orders and documentation (e.g., packing slips, DD-250, DD-1348, WMF); record discrepancies and prepare supporting evidence for SDRs/TDRs/PQDRs as required.
  • Establish and maintain receiving files and logs (open orders, bills of lading, vendor correspondence); research unidentified (frustrated) material and route to the designated area per procedure.
  • Stow materials according to the Government location schema; protect, segregate by condition code, and maintain accountability and loss prevention.
  • Operate Government Material Handling Equipment (MHE)pallet jacks/forkliftsin compliance with OSHA/NAVSUP P-538; complete pre/post-use inspections and report issues.
  • Execute COSIS activities, re-warehousing transactions, kitting per provided lists, and issue materials via WMF with real-time Navy ERP updates.
  • Conduct scheduled/ad-hoc inventories; generate count sheets, reconcile counts to Navy ERP, and submit/upload approved LX17 inventory reports.
  • Perform preservation, packaging, packing, and marking to MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129; apply special controls for classified, pilferable, sensitive, and hazardous items.
  • Stage, load, and deliver materials on base within priority-driven timelines; obtain recipient signatures, maintain daily delivery manifests, and report any inability to deliver within the specified window.
  • Provide courteous, accurate responses to material inquiries (in person, phone, email); investigate inbound shipment status, document root causes, and contribute to lessons-learned/process improvements.

Follow all security, CUI, and facility policies; complete mandatory and limited-audience training (e.g., SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC awareness) and maintain required PPE; lift up to 70 lbs as needed.

    This position supports the DOD on a federal installation, and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.

Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Essential :

  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrated warehouse/materials management experience performing receipt, storage, issuing, COSIS, and physical inventories in a logistics environment. (Attachment 9 identifies the Supply Technician labor category and aligns it to these PWS tasks.)
  • Familiarity with DoD/Navy ERP (SAP) transactions used for goods receipt/issue, transfer postings, inquiries, and reports (e.g., MIGO, LX17), or similar WMS/ERP experience with the ability to learn Navy ERP quickly.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operation experience (pallet jacks/forklifts) and adherence to inspection and safety procedures.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain required OSHA-compliant MHE/forklift certifications

Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is generally performed in an office environment which requires sitting or standing and working on a

computer for long periods of time . Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods oftime. Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time, operating through extended periods of high stress. If applicable th e employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to70 pounds. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard. Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear or other safety gear as appropriate

WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:

This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. Job is performed in an office and warehouse environment with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required.

EXPECTATIONS:

Transportation & Access: You must have reliable transportation to and from work and be able to access military installations.

Background & Drug Screening: Employment requires passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug and alcohol testing may also occur without prior notice.

Timesheets: Record your actual work hours daily and ensure your entries are accurate and timely to support smooth operations.

Dress & Punctuality: Arrive on time and dress appropriately for your shift.

All employees are required to undergo an initial background investigation as a condition of employment. Additionally, employees may be subject to subsequent background investigations if circumstances warrant, such as the emergence of a need, an issue, or probable cause.

Employees assigned to work on federal installations or projects must also comply with government-mandated background investigations, which are conducted independently of the company's investigations. Employment and continued assignment to federal installations are contingent upon successfully meeting and maintaining these requirements.
