Job Description

The Director of Supply Chain Site Operations will lead and oversee strategic and operational management of supply chain functions across Beacon Health System facilities. This role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant management of supply chain processes, including inventory management, distribution, logistics, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the organization's mission and goals, ensuring the availability of necessary medical supplies and equipment to support patient care.

Manages daily dialysis operations and staffing to ensure safe, efficient patient care by:

  • Organizing and coordinating the daily work assignments of the dialysis nursing and technical team
  • Creating, maintaining, and communicating a rolling six week staff schedule to ensure appropri?ate coverage
  • Adjusting staffing plans based on patient volume, acuity, and operational needs
  • Serving as the primary operational resource for dialysis staff during daily operations

Oversees dialysis equipment, water quality, and technical readiness by:

  • Obtaining, documenting, and tracking required monthly dialysis water cultures
  • Ensuring compliance with water quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating and performing dialysis machine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed
  • Collaborating with biomedical services and vendors to address equipment issues and preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring dialysis equipment readiness to prevent delays in patient treatment

Provides direct dialysis patient care as needed by:

  • Performing and overseeing inpatient hemodialysis treatments as required to support operational needs
  • Performing peritoneal dialysis treatments in accordance with provider orders, policies, and standards of care
  • Performing apheresis treatments as clinically indicated and within scope of competency
  • Monitoring patient tolerance, treatment effectiveness, and safety throughout dialysis and apheresis treatments
  • Communicating treatment outcomes, concerns, and patient responses with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Ensuring all dialysis treatments are delivered in compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards

Supports continuity of care for dialysis patients by:

  • Obtaining, reviewing, and maintaining outpatient dialysis records for hospitalized patients
  • Coordinating with outpatient dialysis centers to ensure accurate transfer of dialysis treatment history, prescriptions, and care plans
  • Ensuring dialysis related? records are available to the inpatient care team to support safe treatment planning and discharge coordination.

Provides team leadership, communication, and engagement by:

  • Hosting and facilitating monthly dialysis team meetings
  • Composing and distributing bi?weekly dialysis team newsletters to communicate updates, expectations, and performance information
  • Promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional practice within the dialysis team
  • Serving as a liaison between dialysis staff, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary partners

Monitors performance, quality, and operational outcomes by:

  • Maintaining performance audits related to dialysis key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Tracking compliance with clinical, safety, and operational standards
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and escalating concerns as appropriate

Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:

  • Completing other job related? duties and special projects as assigned

  • Maintains license/certification and registration in good standing throughout the fiscal year
  • Maintains current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department
  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey processes, and compliance standards
  • Complies with established organizational and departmental policies
  • Available to work overtime or adjusted schedules as required by operational needs

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the healthcare industry. Proven experience in strategic planning and execution. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent certification is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrates the managerial and administrative ability necessary to direct, coordinate, and enhance the System's supply chain reward functions.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a healthcare environment.
  • Required to travel to multiple sites.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as needed.
