Job Description
MRG Labs is a leader in the lubricant analysis space. An innovative and growing company, we provide products and services to government agencies and departments, manufacturers, power plants, food processors, and other laboratories.
A Lead Accountant validates the accuracy of a company’s financial records. As a member of our accounting team, they will organize, analyze, and verify our various financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance. They will oversee and audit the monthly close cycle of the accounting records to ensure its accuracy, create most of the financial reports for Management, and provide summary analyses. They will take a leading role in the development of annual budgets and will provide quarterly variance analyses. And, finally, they will develop and execute accounting-related projects as requested by Management.

A Lead Accountant validates the accuracy of a company’s financial records. Responsibilities:
- Review and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy
- Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with local and federal regulations (GAAP)
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Print and distribute financial reports to Management and provide a narrative of the significant variances
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Manage cash projections and forecasts
- Assist with higher-level accounting tasks
- Perform financial analyses as requested by Management
- Evaluate the financial health of the company and provide recommendations for improvements when requested
Requirements:
- Work experience as an Accountant
- Associate degree or higher in accounting or a relevant field
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks accounting software
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
