Accounting Technician II in Soldotna, Alaska at Central Peninsula Hospital

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the payables function of the department. Receives and reviews invoices from vendors, matches documents, routes invoices for approval by appropriate managers, reviews and verifies expense codes, posts transactions, and processes payments to vendors. Processes cash and checks for daily bank deposits. Performs other duties associated with accounts payable, including electronic banking functions, 1099 processing, and maintaining vendor files. Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree(GED).
• 2 years Experience in General Accounting Setting.
• 2 years Experience in Accounting - Accounts Payable.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and mathematical skills involving debit and credit transactions.
• Ability to Operate computer, copy machine, fax, switchboard, calculator, credit card machine.
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge, including file types, importing/exporting/ downloading files, and familiarity with Microsoft Excel software.
• Demonstrated expertise as Key User of CPH payables system, possessing skills to train new users.

PREFERRED:

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or College Level Coursework in Accounting.
• Accounts Payable Certification.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
