At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Patient Care Attendant to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the Inpatient PCA:

Patient Care Attendant performs patient care activities including constant, close observation of an assigned patient, and assistance with activities of daily living (as described in Criteria 3 below). Maintains a safe and clean environment in accordance with VRH policy and procedure. Intervenes as necessary to prevent physical harm to patients who might be at high risk to injure themselves or others due to confusion, delirium, self-destructive behavior, or a high likelihood of falling. PCA works with others in the healthcare team to assure prompt intervention to maintain patient safety and to support patient care workflow. The PCA may be assigned to the Acute, Rehab or Emergency Departments based on the immediate needs of the hospital.

Ideal Candidate would have the following qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old


• Ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.


• Willingness to take initiative, be proactive, and function independently when appropriate


• High integrity, able to follow procedures


• Ability to be a self-motivated learner and to take initiative in self-development
