What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day work focuses on supporting a safe, structured, and trauma-informed residential environment where clients can stay engaged in their recovery and build momentum toward stability.
On a typical week, you will:
- Support clients in staying engaged with their daily treatment schedules and program expectations
- Provide encouragement, coaching, and de-escalation during challenging moments
- Assist with basic health monitoring, including vital signs, and support medication processes under team guidance
- Complete documentation that reflects client engagement, progress, and program needs
- Conduct room checks, chore checks, and help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful living environment
- Support daily operations such as laundry, supply organization, and preparing spaces for client activities
- Collaborate closely with clinical, medical, and peer support teams to ensure consistent care and communication
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment aligned with ARC’s trauma-informed and anti-racism values
This shift is scheduled Tuesday-Thursday 3-11:30 pm, and Friday 11 pm-7:30 am
Requirements:What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a Residential Support Specialist who brings a steady presence, strong communication, and a grounded, compassionate approach—someone who understands that consistency and care help create safety, stability, and trust in the recovery process.
What You Bring to the Role
- CRM (Certified Recovery Mentor) through MHACBO or PSS (Peer Support Specialist – Adult Addiction) through OHA, or willingness to obtain with ARC support
- Experience providing client care in addiction treatment, medical, or other human services settings
- Ability to apply trauma-informed approaches, including crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Strong listening skills and a demonstrated commitment to client success
- Professional demeanor with clear, respectful communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic to moderate computer skills, including documentation and standard office systems
- Spanish bilingual preferred

Compensation
- $23.73 – $27.28 per hour for a 32-hour work week
- Equivalent to approximately $39,487 – $45,394 annually (not including additional hours worked)
- Pay is based on experience, demonstrated skills, and qualifications
Work-Life Balance
- Four-day workweek (32 hours) for all ARC staff
- 10 paid holidays each year (many convert to floating holidays if worked or if they fall on your regular day off)
- Vacation and sick time begin accruing immediately.
- Up to three weeks of vacation and two weeks of sick time earned during your first year

- Benefits eligibility begins the first day of the month following 30 days of employment
