Assembly & Test Technician I or II at crabi-robotics.com – Boston, Massachusetts

We are seeking a full time assembly technician to build, test, and integrate electromechanical assemblies for a marine robot. Work may involve cable harnessing, electrical rework, sensor validation and testing, testing documentation, as well as mechanical work such as rapid prototyping and mechanical assembly.
US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
Job Responsibilities:

• Electrical harness buildup.
• PCBA buildup and rework.
• Electronic device performance testing and validation.
• Mechanical assembly & testing.
• Rapid prototyping of jigs and fixtures needed for mechanical assembly.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in surface mount soldering down to 0402 passives, small QFN rework.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis.
• Proficient in manual and digital fabrication tools.
• Ability to work safely with high magnetic fields (e.g. no ferrous implants or other potential medical dangers).
• Attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic CAD experience (Siemens NX preferred).
• Familiarity with crimping and connector standards for JST and Molex.
• Experience with various epoxies and potting compounds.
• Previous build experience in mechanical or electrical assemblies.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with high power PCB rework.
• Experience with custom battery pack buildup.
• Basic understanding of thermodynamics concepts.
• Ability to operate a CNC mill.
