Job Summary
- The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of various supplies and equipment for all departments in the hospital, outside the hospital and outreach clinics as well as preparation of linen for sterilization.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Requires 3-6 months of on-the-job training.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Certification in processing is required. Employee will have 2 years from date of hire to complete Certification.
Work Schedule
- Day Shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks
- Occasional weekend (Every 4th Saturday)
- Occasional holiday (Every 4th holiday)
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $18.25 - $22.25 per hour
