This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Analyst, Project Setup based in India.
This role supports the accurate setup and administration of project and financial master data within a centralized project administration environment.
You will work closely with finance teams and business stakeholders to ensure project structures support billing, revenue recognition, payroll, and cost reporting.
The position combines data management, accounting processes, quality control, and operational problem-solving.
You’ll play an important role in maintaining data integrity and ensuring project activities comply with financial policies and internal controls.
The environment is collaborative and deadline-driven, with exposure to audits, month-end close, and project-based financial operations.

- Create and maintain project records in Deltek Costpoint, ensuring project structures properly support revenue recognition, billing, and cost reporting.
- Process project setup requests, including new projects, contract modifications, workforce assignments, vendor maintenance, and project ceiling configurations.
- Collaborate with business units and finance stakeholders to resolve project administration and master data issues.
- Support weekly payroll activities by researching and resolving timesheet discrepancies and related system errors.
- Assist with month-end close by processing project-related requests and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues that could affect financial reporting.
- Review project setup activities and transactions for accuracy, compliance with accounting policies, and adherence to internal controls.
- Perform quality assurance and verification activities supporting SOX compliance and broader governance requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and providing requested project and financial information.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses, reports, and data reviews to support management decision-making and operational requirements.
- Identify data discrepancies and contribute to process improvements, data governance initiatives, and more efficient project administration practices.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency while managing high volumes of transactional work within defined deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, project administration, master data management, or related business operations.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred.
- Experience supporting project-based financial operations, project setup, or master data processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, revenue recognition, billing, and project cost reporting concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve data discrepancies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project maintenance activities, and charge number controls is a plus.
- Exposure to SOX controls, audit support, internal compliance processes, or data governance is beneficial.
- Experience in government contracting, defense, engineering, professional services, or similar project-based environments is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business functions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
