Job Overview
The Physician Assistant will provide coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of service for patients requiring orthopedic care in both the operating and office environment.
The PA will assist the physician during office hours including nonop, preoperative and postoperative instructions for all orthopedic subspecialities within the practice; provides dictation support and documentation of patient encounters, letters of Medical Necessity, Disability Forms, Discharge Letters and conduct patient calls/post-op calls.
Location: Bergen, Essex, Hudson County practice locations

- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30pm
Requirements
- PA-C Licensure
- CDS, DEA
- BLS
Essential Functions
- Reviews charts preoperatively and documents any pertinent information
- Provides coverage with residents, fellows and other advanced practitioners covering provider on-call schedules
- Liaisons between physician and outside consulting physicians regarding patient care
- Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools
- Assists physician during hospital rounds with post-op patients and with research as needed
- Participates in and contributes to orthopedic educational activities for appropriate internal and external parties
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Physicia
- Ability to organize and achieve quality performance in a new and changing environment, possess good working knowledge of scheduling and procedure prioritization to minimize delays and ensure completion of daily work schedule
- Recognizes areas for improvement in divisional policies or patient care; initiates change; educate all involved in change
