Job Description
Your duties of employment include, but are not restricted to, the following: Production
- Perform all duties in accordance with standard operational procedures and to ensure service standards, safety, security and regulatory requirements are met.
- Run all production equipment according schedule and specifications
- Safely and efficiently operate production material handling equipment, including hand trucks
- Assure that the RPO schedule is completed in time
- Advise Production Supervisor of any receipt discrepancies
- Assure that all products are built to the highest standard of quality
- Perform Coil Loader duties as required
- Accept and confirm all RPO’s with correct material supplied
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of the product for shipment
- Check product with appropriate RPO documentation
- Accept and confirm carriers documentation
- Offload transport vehicle/palletize goods
- Verify piece counts /sign for overages, shortages or damages as appropriate
- Advise Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor of any receipt discrepancies
- Identify/label product and put away to appropriate location
- Knowledge and understanding of warehouse layout and storage constraints
- Ensure safe and efficient storage of product maintaining appropriate location control
- Isolate and report any damaged/suspect product
- Assist with physical inventory/cycle counts
- Advise Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor of inventory discrepancies
- Select correct quantity of product from the specified storage location in accordance with pick ticket instructions
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of the product for shipment
- Match product with appropriate packing list and carrier waybill or manifest
- Load transport vehicle ensuring correct weight distribution, blocking and bracing and obtain driver signature for acceptance of freight
- Advise Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor of late/missed carrier pick ups
- Demonstrate ability to safely and efficiently operate warehouse material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet trucks and powered “walkies”
- Certified to operate Reach Trucks, Electric Pallet Jack, Counter Balanced Trucks and “man up” Order Pickers as required
- Maintain warehouse work spaces in clean and tidy manner and ensure the neat and orderly storage of all stock
- Ensure all waste is placed in proper receptacles and is disposed of, or recycled, in a timely manner
- Ensure emergency exits, fire extinguishers and hoses are accessible at all times and warehouse aisles are kept free of clutter, pallets etc.
- Ability to lift up to 70 LBS on a regular basis
- Resolve work related problems and recommend solutions
- Recommend operational improvements to warehouse management
- Awareness of basic health and safety regulations and procedures
- Responsible for the use of appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times
- Successful completion of WHMIS
- Responsible for reporting accidents and unsafe conditions to Warehouse Manager
- Participation in Health and Safety committee as required
- Safe and effective use of warehouse facilities, equipment and supplies
- Work cooperatively with others in a group/team environment
- Verbally communicate effectively with others
