About the Role:

The Donor Greeter plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression for individuals who come to donate. This position is responsible for ensuring that donors feel comfortable, informed, and appreciated from the moment they arrive. The Donor Greeter facilitates a smooth check-in process, provides clear information about donation procedures, and addresses any initial questions or concerns. By fostering a friendly and supportive environment, the Donor Greeter helps to encourage repeat donations and supports the overall mission of the organization. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to donor satisfaction and retention, which are critical to the success of the donation program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and patient customer service.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and scheduling.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service or healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with donor or patient management software.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse donor population.
  • Training in first aid or CPR.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly welcome donors as they arrive and provide a friendly, professional first point of contact.
  • Assist donors with the check-in process, verifying identification and completing necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Provide clear explanations about the donation process, including any eligibility requirements and what to expect during donation.
  • Answer donor questions or direct them to appropriate staff members for further assistance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting reception area to ensure a positive donor experience.
  • Manage appointment schedules and help coordinate donor flow to minimize wait times.
  • Document donor interactions and update records as needed to support accurate reporting and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and address any issues promptly.

Skills:

The Donor Greeter uses strong communication skills daily to engage donors warmly and clearly convey important information about the donation process. Active listening and empathy are essential to address donor concerns and create a supportive environment. Organizational skills help manage appointment schedules and maintain accurate records, ensuring efficient donor flow and data integrity. Basic computer proficiency is used to enter donor information and update scheduling systems. Preferred skills such as bilingualism and familiarity with healthcare protocols enhance the ability to serve a diverse donor base and respond effectively to various situations.
