This role is a senior leadership opportunity within mortgage lending, focused on building, managing, and scaling a high-performing branch and Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) team. You will act as both a strategic leader and hands-on producer, driving loan origination growth while ensuring an exceptional borrower experience. The position emphasizes relationship building, business development, and cultivating strong referral networks across real estate professionals, financial advisors, and community partners. You will also play a key role in mentoring loan officers, shaping team performance, and supporting professional development. With strong operational autonomy, you will oversee the full lending lifecycle while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. - Lead and develop a team of Mortgage Loan Originators, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to drive production success.
- Oversee branch operations across the full loan lifecycle, from origination through underwriting and closing, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong referral networks with real estate professionals, builders, financial advisors, attorneys, and other strategic partners.
- Actively generate new mortgage lending opportunities through business development, networking, and community engagement.
- Conduct borrower and partner meetings throughout the loan process to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and internal lending regulations, maintaining strong ethical and professional standards.
- Manage team performance against production goals and contribute directly to branch growth objectives.
- Participate in recruiting efforts, including interviewing and onboarding new Mortgage Loan Originators.
- Utilize internal systems and resources to provide accurate loan program guidance to both clients and team members.
- Promote the branch through local outreach and professional involvement to strengthen market presence.
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage lending, loan origination, or mortgage branch management.
- Proven leadership experience managing Mortgage Loan Originators or similar sales-driven teams.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and lending regulations.
- Demonstrated success in business development and building referral-based networks.
- Ability to drive production goals while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
