Academy Trainer - NAO

The Role

We have a permanent opportunity for an experienced and engaging Academy Trainer to join our Dovida Academy at our State Training Centre in Blackburn.

In this role, youll play a key part in delivering high-quality training and development to our Caregivers and support teams. You will ensure our workforce is equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to deliver safe, person-centred care, while consistently meeting regulatory standards.

This is a hands-on and varied role, combining classroom delivery, workplace observations, and ongoing support for learners. Youll also contribute to continuous improvement of training programs and step in to support other states where required.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver engaging training including orientation, WHS, manual handling and best practice care topics
  • Train and assess learners completing the Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Conduct workplace observations and provide tailored coaching to Caregivers
  • Manage LMS (Saba) administration including enrolments, reporting and learner support
  • Facilitate both face-to-face and virtual training sessions across VIC (and occasionally other states)
  • Proactively manage challenges during training and adapt delivery to suit different learning needs

About you:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and Certificate III in Individual Support (or higher)
  • Experience delivering training within aged care or a similar setting
  • Confident, engaging facilitator with a warm and approachable style
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to think on your feet
  • Able to set clear expectations and confidently manage challenging conversations
  • Strong organisational skills, able to balance training delivery, admin and learner support
  • Must be willing to travel interstate to our other academy's from time to time.
