Description of the delivery mode (WH00): A portion of this type of course is given online in asynchronous mode (delayed); the other portion is given at distance in synchronous mode (live), which requires the student to be connected remotely at the given time in order to do group work, participate in discussions or any other component of the course.

Course description: Study of theoretical and critical approaches to racism and racialization, including their cultural, institutional and systemic forms. Analysis of racism through intersectional power dynamics. Exploration of anti-racist practices, inspired by sociopolitical and civic movements, aiming to foster sustainable systemic change.
Required experience and qualifications:
- Hold a Ph.D. in the social sciences or a related field (e.g., sociology, critical race studies, cultural studies, Indigenous studies).
- Have conducted research on racism and racialization, including their cultural, institutional, systemic, and/or intersectional dimensions.
- Demonstrate experience with anti-racist practices or anti-oppressive approaches inspired by sociopolitical and civic movements.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) as a framework for organizational transformation.
- Demonstrate active proficiency in English and passive proficiency in the second official language (French).
- Demonstrate proficiency in community-engaged and/or experiential teaching approaches in adult education.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to multiple differences (including abilities, genders, and cultures) and to students’ concerns.
- Demonstrate proficiency in online learning tools, including video conferencing (e.g., Zoom) and learning management systems (e.g., BrightSpace).
