Position Summary
The Asbestos Technician supports asbestos abatement and environmental remediation projects by assisting with containment setup, material removal, site cleanup, and compliance procedures. This role works closely with supervisors and team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable regulations and company standards.
This position is ideal for individuals who are hardworking, safety-focused, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments. Previous asbestos or restoration experience is preferred but not required for candidates willing to learn and grow in the environmental services industry.
Essential Functions
- Assist with asbestos abatement projects including containment setup, material removal, cleanup, and disposal.
- Follow all Federal, State, and local asbestos regulations along with company SOPs and safety procedures.
- Safely use hand tools, PPE, HEPA vacuums, negative air machines, and other abatement equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout all phases of the project.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment and materials to job sites.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers on-site.
- Complete daily documentation and compliance tasks as required.
- Drive company vehicles to and from job sites in accordance with company policy and traffic laws.
- Work at residential and commercial construction sites as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous asbestos, restoration, demolition, construction, or environmental services experience preferred.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear PPE for extended periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform physical labor in demanding environments.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work in varying site conditions.
- AHERA certifications are a plus, but not required for entry-level candidates.
