In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor supporting enterprise and commercial customers in designing and positioning modern data infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with sales teams, partners, and end customers to translate complex storage and hybrid cloud technologies into clear, business-driven value. Operating in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment, you will play a key role across the full customer journey—from discovery and solution design to demonstrations and deal closure. This position combines deep technical expertise with strong customer-facing communication and consultative selling skills. You will help organizations modernize their data environments using NetApp’s portfolio while enabling partners to successfully position and deliver solutions. The environment is highly collaborative, remote-friendly, and focused on continuous learning and technical excellence.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will support pre-sales technical strategy and customer engagement across a broad set of accounts, ensuring successful positioning of data infrastructure solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with sales teams to define technical strategy, qualify opportunities, and support territory planning
  • Engaging with customers and prospects to understand infrastructure needs, business goals, and technical requirements
  • Designing and presenting tailored solutions across on-prem, hybrid cloud, and data management environments
  • Leading technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and solution presentations (remote and in-person)
  • Translating complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborating with channel partners, resellers, and distributors to support joint sales opportunities
  • Developing supporting materials such as architecture diagrams, solution briefs, and technical proposals
  • Supporting both pre-sales and post-sales technical inquiries through virtual and direct engagement
  • Working with internal specialists and architects to address complex or strategic customer requirements
  • Maintaining accurate tracking of activities, opportunities, and technical engagements in CRM systems
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong pre-sales engineering experience and deep familiarity with data center and cloud infrastructure technologies. Key qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Systems Engineer
  • Experience supporting commercial, mid-market, or enterprise customers in a quota-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including storage, virtualization, compute, backup, or hybrid cloud architectures
  • Experience working with channel partners, resellers, or distributors in technical sales motions
  • Proven ability to design and articulate technical solutions aligned with customer business needs
  • Strong discovery skills with the ability to identify requirements, constraints, and opportunities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary ($70,000–$75,000)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match
  • Generous paid time off and paid medical leave
  • Structured learning, training, and career development programs
  • Mental health and wellness support programs
  • Child and dependent care reimbursement
  • Education reimbursement opportunities
  • Financial wellness resources, including advisory access and hardship loan programs
  • Remote-first work environment with collaborative team culture
