Job Description

We are looking for a Content Specialist with 1-3 years of experience to be the creative production engine of our marketing team. This is a hands-on, high-volume role for a strong designer who also writes well and cares deeply about getting the details right.

On any given week you might design a branch promotion, build a set of social graphics, lay out a brochure for print, shoot photos at a community event, and proof a rate sheet before it goes out.

This is an excellent role for someone early in their career who wants real ownership of the work they produce, exposure to every part of a marketing function, and a portfolio that grows fast. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, you will work day to day with the Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design

  • Design marketing collateral across digital and print, including social graphics, email templates, web banners, flyers, brochures, rate cards, branch and digital signage, event materials, and presentation decks.
  • Work confidently in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva, choosing the right tool for the job and the deadline.
  • Design within the established American Pride Bank brand system, and bring ideas for how to extend it thoughtfully.
  • Turn around high-quality work with both speed and polish.
  • Use Generative AI (GenAI) tools responsibly to accelerate drafting and ideation, with careful human review and editing before anything ships.

Content Creation

  • Write and edit clear, engaging copy for social posts, emails, web pages, blog articles, internal announcements, and event promotions.
  • Adapt tone and length appropriately for each channel and audience.
  • Develop content ideas that highlight the bank's customers, employees, and community involvement.
  • Use Generative AI (GenAI) tools responsibly to accelerate drafting and ideation, with careful human review and editing before anything ships.

Brand Stewardship

  • Apply brand guidelines consistently across assets and channels
  • Build and maintain reusable templates that make the whole team faster.
  • Own the organization of the brand asset library, including logos, photography, fonts, and file versioning, so the team can always find the current version.

Photography & Video

  • Capture social media style photo and video at branch events, community sponsorships, ribbon cuttings, and employee moments.
  • Edit and retouch images for use across web, social, print, and internal channels.

Social Media Content Support

  • Produce the creative assets that fill the social content calendar.
  • Support publishing and community monitoring alongside the Marketing Manager, escalating anything that needs a response from Compliance or Retail.

Print & Production Coordination

  • Prepare print-ready files with correct specifications, bleeds, color profiles, and dimensions.
  • Coordinate with print vendors on quotes, proofs, timelines, and delivery.
  • Review physical proofs carefully before anything goes to production.
  • Help track inventory of printed materials across branches so locations are never out of what they need.

Project Support

  • Track deadlines across many concurrent projects and flag conflicts early.
  • Maintain organized project files and archives.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field. Relevant internship and freelance work counts.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio or sample of 5-10 pieces demonstrating design work is required.
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
  • Design Fundamentals: Solid command of typography, layout, hierarchy, and color, and the discipline to work within an existing brand system rather than around it.
  • Writing: Strong writing and editing skills with clean grammar and an ear for tone.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional. You notice the kerning that is off, the inconsistent bullet spacing, and the missing comma, and you fix them before anyone else sees the file.
  • Speed and Volume: Comfortable producing a high volume of quality work.
  • Educations: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience and a portfolio that speaks for itself.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools and a desire to learn more!
  • Motion graphics or animation experience (After Effects, Canva animation, CapCut).
  • Photography experience with your own eye for composition and lighting.
  • Experience building email templates in a marketing platform.
  • Experience with social scheduling and listening tools.
  • Interest in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.
