Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/NP or PA) – Cardiovascular Unit - UConn Health Waterbury in Waterbury, Connecticut at UConn Health Community Network Medical Group

UConn Health Waterbury Hospital is seeking an experienced APRN/NP or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiovascular Unit. This is a full-time day position with occasional nocturnist shifts. The provider will deliver high-quality, independent care for cardiac and cardiothoracic patients, assist with pre- and post-operative management, and support patient transitions across the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage inpatients on cardiac and cardiothoracic services under attending supervision
• Care for patients with myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndromes, post-op open-heart procedures, and mechanical support devices (IABP, Impella)
• Perform comprehensive assessments, order tests, interpret hemodynamics, and participate in advanced procedures.
• Educate patients, families, and staff while collaborating with the interprofessional team

Requirements:

• Current Connecticut APRN/PA license with DEA and controlled substance registration
• Minimum 2 years’ APP experience preferred
• Experience with first-assist capabilities preferred
• Strong cardiovascular clinical expertise and communication skills
