Description:
The Dock Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse dock, ensuring the efficient flow of inbound and outbound shipments. This position involves coordinating loading and unloading activities, managing dock schedules, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. The Dock Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for drivers, warehouse staff, and management to ensure smooth and timely operations while maintaining inventory accuracy and minimizing delays.
Requirements:Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload cargo from trucks and delivery vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Organize and store products in the warehouse according to company procedures.
- Check goods to ensure they are not damaged or missing.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport goods around the warehouse.
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations, including the use of protective gear and proper lifting techniques.
- Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring that units are properly set up and cleaned.
- Assist with inventory management, organizing, and relocating units to ensure accuracy.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
- Ability to learn and understand the company software
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to function in a work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.
- Must be in good physical condition and have good motor skills.
