Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Performance Marketing Specialist (Paid Search) based in Canada.
This is a hands-on opportunity to own and scale paid search across multiple markets and business lines. You will be responsible for driving efficient customer acquisition in a mature Canadian market while helping launch and build demand in the US. You will also manage paid search for an Australian brand and a growing B2B business. The role combines channel strategy, campaign execution, experimentation, measurement, and performance storytelling. You will work closely with web, CRO, and other commercial teams in a lean, fast-moving environment. There is also significant scope to expand beyond Google and explore emerging search surfaces, automation, and AI-powered marketing tools.
- Own paid search strategy and performance targets across multiple markets, including CPA, blended CAC, new subscriber volume, and B2B qualified lead generation.
- Manage Google Ads campaigns across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and YouTube, including account structure, budgets, bidding, search-term analysis, negative keywords, audience signals, and ad testing.
- Lead paid search for B2B corporate, workplace, and wholesale accounts, optimizing toward cost per qualified lead rather than subscriber acquisition.
- Launch and develop Microsoft Advertising and Reddit Ads as independent acquisition channels, while evaluating emerging search opportunities such as AI answer engines and shopping agents.
- Expand and optimize campaigns across Canada, the US, and Australia, adapting account structures and strategies to each market's maturity, demand, and brand positioning.
- Reconcile advertising platform data with GA4 and Triple Whale, improving measurement, attribution, conversion imports, and offline conversion tracking.
- Focus reporting on meaningful business outcomes such as cost per new customer, acquisition efficiency, qualified leads, and subscriber growth.
- Write and test concise, performance-oriented ad copy while partnering with web and CRO teams to improve paid landing-page performance.
- Own the paid search technology stack and identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and tooling to increase efficiency and scale.
- Deliver data-driven performance reports, highlighting key insights, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to stakeholders.
- Take ownership of commitments from planning through execution, proactively identifying issues and adjusting strategies to protect performance.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in paid search, PPC, or performance marketing, with direct ownership of advertising budgets and CPA or similar performance targets.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Google Ads, including match types, bidding strategies, Performance Max, audience signals, conversion imports, and offline conversion tracking.
- Experience in DTC, e-commerce, subscription, or consumer acquisition environments is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing paid search across multiple markets or regions, with US market launch experience considered an advantage.
- Ability to assess when different markets require dedicated campaign structures, messaging, budgets, or acquisition strategies.
- Strong short-form copywriting skills and the ability to work effectively within advertising character limits.
- Solid analytical and measurement capabilities, including experience with GA4, Triple Whale, attribution, and conversion data reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of acquisition metrics including CPA, CAC, conversion rates, customer acquisition volume, and qualified lead costs.
- Experience with B2B or lead-generation paid search is an asset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with web, CRO, marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset, reliability, organization, and willingness to flag risks early.
- Curiosity about emerging search technologies, AI-powered marketing tools, automation, and evolving consumer search behavior.
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, fast-paced environment where hands-on execution and strategic thinking are equally important.
- Fully remote position within Canada.
- Flexible working hours.
- Free grocery plan.
- Bi-annual performance bonus tied to company and individual targets.
- Health plan available after 3 months.
- RRSP and pension plan available after 12 months.
- 20 days of paid time off (PTO).
- Strong potential for professional growth and increased responsibility.
