Vice President, International Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, International Marketing based in the United States.

This is a senior marketing leadership opportunity focused on translating global strategy into effective, locally relevant execution across international markets.
You will help align multiple Advancement Offices around shared campaign frameworks, brand standards, channel strategies, and performance expectations.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on partnership, ensuring local teams have the capabilities, tools, training, and insights needed to succeed.
You will work across direct response, digital marketing, storytelling, fundraising, and other channels while maintaining consistency with global direction.
As a key bridge between global and regional leadership, you will influence senior stakeholders, surface market insights, and help shape future marketing strategy.
The environment is highly collaborative, cross-cultural, mission-driven, and structured around continuous learning and improvement.
This role is ideal for an experienced international marketing leader who can drive results through influence, develop diverse teams, and connect global priorities with market-level opportunities.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the adoption of global marketing strategies, campaign frameworks, and brand standards across international markets, ensuring consistent and high-quality implementation.
  • Integrate direct response, digital, storytelling, and other marketing channels within local markets while maintaining alignment with global strategy.
  • Ensure international teams have the appropriate tools, training, resources, and guidance to execute campaigns effectively.
  • Support regional leaders in maintaining high standards of marketing quality, creativity, consistency, and execution.
  • Build and strengthen marketing capabilities within international teams through targeted coaching, development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Foster a culture of marketing excellence, accountability, urgency, collaboration, and mission-focused performance.
  • Act as the primary connection between global marketing leadership and regional executives, translating strategic priorities into actionable, market-specific plans.
  • Represent international marketing priorities, performance, opportunities, and challenges to senior organizational leadership.
  • Identify significant gaps between global strategy and local execution, escalating issues with clear analysis and recommended solutions.
  • Partner with global insights and growth leadership to roll out, test, and embed new marketing products, initiatives, and approaches across international markets.
  • Facilitate the exchange of campaign insights, research, and market learnings between regional teams and global marketing leadership.
  • Maintain continuous feedback loops to identify what is working, what requires improvement, and where global strategies should adapt to local market realities.
  • Participate actively in the organization's community and spiritual formation activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline; a Master's degree, MBA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 10–12+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including significant responsibility across international or multi-market environments.
  • Proven experience building, developing, and leading regional marketing teams within matrixed, federated, or similarly complex organizational structures.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with fundraising, revenue, or growth leaders to achieve shared organizational objectives.
  • Deep expertise in campaign frameworks, brand standards, channel strategy, and marketing execution across multiple international markets.
  • Strong understanding of project and workflow management platforms such as Teamwork or Asana.
  • Ability to translate global marketing strategies into practical, locally relevant execution plans.
  • Exceptional cross-cultural awareness, emotional intelligence, and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders through clarity and conviction.
  • Strong decision-making skills combined with a collaborative approach and the ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative, disciplined prioritization, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal awareness, adaptability, and ability to foster collaborative and high-performing teams.
  • Creative and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and develop practical solutions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically, potentially up to 40% of the year.
  • Mature orthodox Christian faith consistent with the Apostles' Creed, as required for this role.
  • Commitment to values centered on Christian faith, professional excellence, bridge-building, collaboration, and service.
  • Successful completion of required background checks, police clearance, and reference checks.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Retirement benefit options.
  • Paid leave beginning at 23 days.
  • 12 paid holidays, including early release on the day preceding holidays.
  • Monthly commuter and parking benefits for eligible employees in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
  • Daily, quarterly, and annual opportunities for community spiritual formation.
  • Robust staff care and employee support resources.
  • Opportunity to work in a globally distributed, mission-driven environment.
  • Exposure to international marketing strategy, fundraising, digital channels, storytelling, and cross-cultural leadership.
  • Opportunities to develop marketing capabilities and influence strategy across multiple international markets.
  • Remote work option within the United States, with significant international and domestic travel as required.
