This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer (C#/.NET) - Software based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a senior backend engineer to build and scale enterprise-grade SaaS applications within a modern, AI-assisted engineering environment. You will solve complex business problems and translate them into clean, modular, and maintainable backend solutions. The role combines hands-on development with architectural ownership across APIs, microservices, databases, and distributed systems. You will work with C#, .NET, SQL Server, and modern engineering patterns including DDD and CQRS. You will also take responsibility for testing and quality throughout the development lifecycle, following a Shift Left approach. Working closely with product and engineering teams, you will help deliver reliable, customer-focused capabilities for a sophisticated cloud platform.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise SaaS applications using C#, .NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, and related technologies.
• Break down complex business requirements into modular, maintainable solutions using sound architectural principles and design patterns.
• Build foundational backend frameworks and apply approaches such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and clean separation between business and data access layers.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices while ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Design and optimize SQL Server databases, including complex stored procedures, indexing strategies, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Take end-to-end ownership of software quality by performing unit, integration, and performance testing within a Shift Left development model.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, documentation, testing, and overall engineering productivity.
• Collaborate directly with Product Managers and distributed engineering squads to translate business requirements into effective, customer-focused features.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows, code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvements to development practices.

• 5+ years of professional experience developing enterprise or SaaS software using C#, .NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, software design patterns, enterprise architecture, multithreading, and asynchronous programming.
• Practical experience with Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, modular architecture, and clear separation of business and data access concerns.
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop robust APIs, backend services, and data-intensive applications.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, including database design, stored procedures, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Daily experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or comparable tools as part of the software development workflow.
• Familiarity with Angular or other modern frontend frameworks, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
• Strong understanding of software testing and the ability to take full responsibility for code quality without relying on a separate QA function.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with experience collaborating effectively across distributed teams.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Experience with AI-powered product features, event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, distributed systems, or full feature ownership from design through production deployment is a plus.
