Description:

• Lead, develop, and enforce company wide safety programs, policies, and procedures

• Promote a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, training, and field presence

• Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations

• Conduct regular job site inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify hazards and drive corrective actions

• Facilitate accident, incident, and near miss investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective measures

• Partner with operations, field leadership, and management to support safe work planning and execution

• Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and orientation programs for employees and contractors

• Monitor and track safety metrics, trends, and performance indicators to support continuous improvement

• Maintain safety documentation, certifications, and records in compliance with company and regulatory standards

• Coordinate with insurance providers, auditors, and regulatory agencies as needed

• Serve as a resource for employees by providing guidance on safe work practices and risk mitigation

• Oversee the full lifecycle of company fleet vehicles, from procurement to retirement

• Manage vehicle licensing, registration, permitting, insurance, inspections, and maintenance

• Ensure fleet operations are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with company goals

• Lead driver onboarding and ongoing driver management, including assignments, scheduling, performance monitoring, and training

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations

• Maintain accurate vehicle and driver records to support audits, insurance renewals, and regulatory reviews

• Coordinate vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs

• Monitor fleet performance, costs, fuel usage, and utilization, identifying areas for improvement

• Manage fleet-related vendors and programs, including gas cards and fleet tracking systems

• Investigate incidents, manage insurance claims, and implement corrective actions when needed

• Collaborate with supervisors, employee services, and management teams to support daily operations

• Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership related to fleet performance, budgets, and future needs

Requirements:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a safety role within construction, telecommunications, utilities, or a related field
  • Experience supporting field crews and job-site operations is strongly preferred
  • OSHA 30, Fall Protection, or similar industry safety certifications
  • Demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Experience working in regulated environments with a focus on continuous improvement and risk reduction
  • Prior experience leading or supporting multi-site safety programs is a plus
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and reporting skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, supervisors, and external vendors
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a regulated, operational environment
  • Proficient with fleet management systems, tracking tools, and basic reporting software
