Summary
SENS ise looking for a self-motivated Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our growing company. This individual will help design and develop internal and external test fixtures for industrial battery chargers, inverters and DC back-up power systems. This person will be involved from concept investigation and design, through successful production launch and support of these test fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the full life cycle of test fixture development including requirement definition, design, implementation, test, and maintenance.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain test firmware for system controllers, sensors, and accessories for power systems and battery monitors with embedded microcontrollers.
- Develop firmware to help support and execute design verification testing, and system integration to ensure performance and reliability under all operating conditions.
- Specify and design production tests and equipment to support the introduction of new products into production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar related field.
- 5+ or more years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in development and testing with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
- Mastery of computer programming and scripting languages (C, C++, BASH).
- Knowledge of board level communications (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.).
- Experience using lab test equipment such as high-speed digital scopes, power supplies, electronic loads, voltmeters, and logic analyzers.
- Proven ability to investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, validate corrective actions, and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Possesses the ability to develop test plans, procedures, and cases to conduct new product validation in Engineering to ensure products meet performance, reliability, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Linux development environments.
- Experience with power electronics and analog sensors.
- Experience with the following protocols is a plus: SNMP, MODBUS, DNP3, IEC61850.Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Experience taking a design from concept into test execution.
Location: This position is located onsite in Longmont, CO.
Base Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000 is the projected base salary range and will be determined by the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
