Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts (CFA)seeks a collaborative and creative Marketing Manager to lead college-widecommunications, marketing, and outreach efforts that strengthen the visibilityof CFA's academic programs, people, events, and impact. Working closely withCollege leadership and its academic and programmatic units, the MarketingManager develops and implements communication and marketing strategies thatconnect CFA with students, alumni, community members, donors, artsorganizations, and other external stakeholders. The position developscompelling content across print and digital platforms, including social media,newsletters, websites, promotional materials, press releases, emailcommunications, and stories highlighting faculty, staff, student, and alumniaccomplishments. The Marketing Manager also supports coverage of CFA eventsthrough accessible photography and visual content that captures the activityand character of the College.

Serving as CFA's primary communications and marketingliaison to University Communication and Marketing (UCAM), the Marketing Managerprovides college-level coordination and guidance for communications andmarketing activities across CFA's diverse units. The position workscollaboratively with departmental and unit-based communications and marketingrepresentatives to promote consistent messaging, effective practices,appropriate use of the UNM brand, and coordinated promotion of collegepriorities while recognizing the distinct audiences and identities ofindividual programs. The Marketing Manager provides oversight and coordinationof CFA web content and digital presence; identifies opportunities for earnedmedia and external engagement; develops communications calendars and campaigns;tracks the effectiveness of marketing and outreach activities; and advisesCollege leadership on communications strategies that advance enrollment,engagement, reputation, and community connection.

Required work samples should include:

Writing Sample: One professional writing sample demonstrating the applicant's ability to communicate a story, announcement, or organizational message to an external audience. Examples may include a press release, feature story, newsletter article, executive communication, or similar piece.
Marketing/Digital Sample: One example of a marketing or communications campaign, social media campaign, promotional piece, newsletter, web feature, or other digital communication. Applicants should briefly identify their individual role in developing the submitted work.
Social Media Samples: Two to three examples of social media content demonstrating the applicant's ability to adapt messaging and visual content for digital audiences.
Visual/Photography Sample: Three to five examples of photographs or visual content created for organizational, event, social media, or promotional use. Professional photography equipment is not required; samples may include content captured using a mobile device.
Applicants may provide samples through a portfolio link or upload individual examples as permitted through the application system. For collaborative work, applicants should clearly identify the components for which they were personally responsible.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing integrated communications or marketing strategies across multiple platforms, including web, email, social media, print, and/or earned media.
  • Exceptional written and editorial communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop engaging content for varied audiences and purposes, such as feature stories, press releases, social media, newsletters, executive communications, and promotional materials.
  • Experience managing social media and digital communications, including content planning, audience engagement, content calendars, analytics, and adapting content for different platforms and audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple departments, programs, or organizational units, including the ability to coordinate the work of communications or marketing representatives who may have differing priorities, audiences, and areas of expertise.
  • Experience developing external-facing communications and cultivating relationships with media, community organizations, alumni, donors, or other external stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to identify and communicate compelling organizational stories.
  • Experience managing website content and digital presence, including working within a content management system and applying organizational branding, accessibility, editorial, and web-content standards.
  • Demonstrated visual storytelling skills, including event photography using mobile devices or other photography equipment and the ability to select, edit, and appropriately use images for social media, web, newsletters, and promotional communications.
