Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile, curiosity-driven Systems & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and scale our hybrid environment. This role is ideal for a technologist with a solid foundation in core systems administration who is eager to expand their depth across modern cloud networking, container orchestration, and multi-OS enterprise platforms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Web & Application Hosting: Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot applications on Windows IIS and Linux-based web servers, including SSL/TLS certificate management, application pools, and site bindings.
- Operating System Administration: Maintain, patch, and monitor mixed Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy) and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) environments for high availability and security compliance.
- Cloud & Hybrid Networking: Implement, configure, and troubleshoot cloud network primitives in AWS (VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, Transit Gateways) and Azure (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways).
- Container Orchestration: Deploy, support, and maintain containerized workloads running on managed Kubernetes services (Amazon EKS and Azure AKS).
- Automation & Maintenance: Assist in streamlining deployments using basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep/CloudFormation).
- Incident Response & Monitoring: Participate in monitoring system health, diagnosing root causes for infrastructure/application issues, and documenting standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on Experience: 2–4 years of experience supporting Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems in production environments.
- Web Server Proficiency: Practical experience installing, configuring, and tuning IIS sites, virtual directories, and web services.
- Willingness & Aptitude to Learn: A clear drive to master cloud networking architecture and enterprise Kubernetes workflows (EKS/AKS).
- Foundational Networking: Understanding of core network protocols, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, load balancers, and firewall rules.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset to isolate bottlenecks across the application, OS, and network layers.
Preferred:
- Exposure to container tools (Docker, kubectl, Helm).
- Basic experience with either AWS or Azure cloud consoles.
- Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
