Now Hiring - Mechanic I or Mechanic II (Depending on Qualifications and Experience - See Mechanic II Listing)

Park City Fire District is seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic to join our Fleet Division. Under the direction of the Fleet & Facilities Manager, this position performs maintenance and repair work on fire apparatus, emergency response vehicles, and district fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a desire to support critical emergency operations.

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair gasoline/diesel engines, pumps, hydraulics, electrical systems, steering and suspension components, drive trains, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Perform occasional welding and fabrication.
• Safely operate vehicles over 10,000 lbs.
• Work safely in the shop and in the field in all weather conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and parts room.
• Order needed parts and supplies.
• Enter work order data into fleet management software.
• Follow all PCFD policies and safety procedures.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Mechanic certificate from a 2-year vocational program or three (3) years of experience as a mechanic.
• No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history within the past seven years.
• U.S. citizenship or proof of legal work authorization.
• Ability to read and write the English language.
• Good moral character, industrious work habits, and the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Utah Vehicle Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within one year).
• ASE and EVT certifications preferred; must obtain required certifications within the first year of employment, including:
– T-4 Heavy Duty Truck (Brakes)
– T-5 Heavy Duty Truck (Suspension & Steering)
– A-4 Automobile (Suspension & Steering)
– A-5 Automobile (Brakes)
– F-1, F-2, E-0, E-1 EVT certifications.

Physical & Environmental Conditions
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move up to 175 lbs.
• Physical ability to crawl, kneel, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions.
• Work performed in varying weather, around mechanical hazards, noise, fumes, and chemicals.
