Scheduling Representative (8A-4:30P) in Marianna, Florida at Jackson County Hospital District

Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments, diagnostic tests, surgeries, and procedures
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral requirements
• Answer inbound calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally and compassionately
• Coordinate schedules between physicians, departments, and patients
• Ensure all appointments comply with physician availability and hospital protocols
• Obtain prior authorizations and referrals when required.
• Communicate appointment instructions, preparation requirements, and follow-up information to patients
• Monitor scheduling conflicts and resolve issues promptly
• Schedules hospital based medical procedures, for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot. Utilizing appropriate scheduling codes to maximize efficiency
• Enters notes & special instructions needed for the procedure in the proper areas
• Works in the PLE to provide an estimate of the procedure to the patient

Regulatory Requirements

• Completes annual educational requirements within the assigned time frame
• Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and Joint Commission regulations related to their department and, as appropriate, to the hospital
