Job Description

Accounting and Advisory Senior

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accounting and Advisory Senior based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support international small and mid-sized businesses as they establish and grow their US operations.
You’ll take ownership of accounting activities across a portfolio of clients, from bookkeeping through month-end and year-end close.
The position combines hands-on accounting, financial reporting, analysis, process improvement, and client advisory responsibilities.
You’ll work with multi-entity structures and cross-border engagements, partnering closely with accounting and tax professionals.
Your insights will help clients improve financial visibility, strengthen controls, and make better-informed business decisions.
The role also provides opportunities to review and support junior team members while developing deeper advisory expertise.
A remote-friendly environment and collaborative client relationships make this a strong opportunity for an experienced accounting professional seeking meaningful responsibility.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of international clients and oversee the full accounting cycle from bookkeeping through month-end and year-end close.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis, executive summaries, KPI reporting, and recommendations for improvement.

  • Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, intercompany, and accrual reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

  • Manage intercompany accounting and support consolidation activities for multi-entity client structures.

  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and technology solutions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and financial visibility.

  • Collaborate with tax teams to provide accurate accounting information and support cross-border compliance requirements.

  • Communicate directly with clients, providing clear explanations, responding to questions, and helping address accounting and financial reporting matters.

  • Review accounting work prepared by junior team members and provide coaching, guidance, and feedback as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a CPA firm, including experience with an international CPA firm and cross-border accounting engagements.

  • Hands-on experience managing month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, performing variance analysis, and completing account reconciliations.

  • Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and internal controls.

  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, and advanced Excel.

  • Previous experience serving as a direct client contact and reviewing the work of junior accounting professionals.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both accounting professionals and business stakeholders.

  • Bill.com experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP is preferred.

  • An active CPA license is preferred.

  • Professional proficiency in French is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with internal and client-facing teams.

Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance, with HSA and FSA options available.

  • 401(k) plan with 100% matching contributions up to 6%, after three months of employment.

  • Unlimited paid time off, with a minimum of two weeks per year expected to be taken.

  • Work-from-home-friendly environment.

  • Opportunity to work with international clients and gain exposure to cross-border accounting and advisory engagements.

  • Meaningful responsibility across client accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement.

  • Opportunities to support and mentor junior accounting professionals while developing advisory expertise.
