Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, and we are seeking a Custodian based at our Houston, TX office. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

In this role you will get to:

All Areas:

  • Ensure the bathrooms are clean: empty trash bins, disinfect toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
  • Restock supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies.
  • Wipe down break room tables, chairs, countertops, and appliances. In the office areas, wipe down all flat surfaces (desks and tables) and high-touch point locations (doors, handles, light switches)
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum main areas
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins in the office, break room, and bathrooms.
  • Restock napkins, utensils, coffee machines, coffee supplies, and other food supplies as needed.
  • Maintain hallways, entryways, computer areas, and locker rooms by keeping them clean and disinfected.
  • Ensure all common areas are tidy.
  • Spot-clean any reported spills or messes.
  • Restock supplies for the next shift.
  • Notify the manager of any broken fixtures, labels, supplies, leaks, or supply shortages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Office Areas:

  • Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures, and office equipment
  • Clean conference rooms, reception areas, and shared workspaces
  • Clean windows, glass doors, and partitions
  • Disinfect high-touch point locations such as doorknobs, light switches, and appliances

Manufacturing Areas:

  • Sweep and scrub production floors, aisles, and walkways
  • Maintain cleanliness of emergency exits and safe walkways
  • Use appropriate methods for cleaning oils and other residue

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year of experience cleaning and/or working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Accuracy and timeliness in completion of work assignments is a must
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
  • Must adhere to all PPE requirements to perform the job safely; this includes, but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Foot, and Hearing protection.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while collaborating, troubleshooting, and problem-solving with coworkers.
