JOB SUMMARY: In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The IT Intern will support the Information Technology team by assisting with a variety of technology-related projects and daily operational activities. This role provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users, maintaining technology systems, and contributing to ongoing IT initiatives.
This internship is designed to provide students entering their senior year with meaningful, hands-on experience that bridges classroom learning with real-world IT applications and prepares them for a successful career in technology.
PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Monday through Friday 8AM – 5PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues.
- Assistwith the installation, configuration, and maintenance of technology equipment and systems.
- Support IT projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- HelpmaintainaccurateIT documentation and asset records.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving end-user technical issues.
- Follow company policies and best practices related to cybersecurity and data security.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
- Currently pursuing aBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Completed junior year and entering senior year of an undergraduate program.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrated ability to learnnew technologiesand work effectively in a team environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.
