The Vice President of Real Estate is responsible for the strategic direction, risk management, and overall performance of Greylock's real estate lending portfolio. This leader oversees lending operations, credit administration, and portfolio strategy, while driving growth, operational excellence, and secondary market initiatives. The role partners with senior leadership to build scalable systems, strengthen risk governance, and ensure lending practices are safe, equitable, and aligned with Greylock's long term goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Provides executive level oversight of real estate underwriting, guiding the function through the Underwriting Supervisor. Sets underwriting strategy, upholds credit culture, and ensures frameworks support responsible growth. Holds authority for complex credit decisions, lending exceptions, and board level approvals, while strengthening risk management and enabling new lending products and programs.

Oversee the development and integrity of strategic reporting and advanced analytics used by senior leadership, and the Board. Leverages data to assess portfolio health, identify emerging risks, and guide decision making. Ensures reporting systems, tools, and insights support compliance, performance monitoring, and strategic planning.

Leads strategic initiatives to improve end to end real estate lending workflows, ensuring sustainable capacity, regulatory compliance, and efficient service delivery. Identifies structural improvement opportunities, elevates credit and operational standards, and shapes long term processes and training to support organizational growth and readiness.

Supports the SVP, Lending Officer on strategic priorities, including capacity building expansion into new geographic markets, and the development of lending partnerships. Contributes to initiatives that enhance originations strategy, secondary market capabilities, and business development.

Represents Greylock in professional, civic and community settings to advance organizational visibility, industry engagement, and mission alignment through networking and selective though leadership.

Performance Measurements:
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: 7+ years of experience in Mortgage Lending
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and specialized training.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, collaborate across departments, and provide clear direction and coaching. Strong communication and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Technical/Other Skills: Proficiency with LOS platforms, lending related software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to produce advanced reporting and manage data/system configurations.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate standard office equipment. Travel within Greylock’s service area may be required for member meetings, community events, or internal training.
Work Environment:
Office setting with hybrid work flexibility. Frequent engagement with internal staff, members, and external partners. Occasional evening or weekend commitments may be required.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $157,000. This is the salary range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may pay more than the posted range for exceptionally qualified individuals. An employee’s pay position within the pay band will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience (job and life), skills (specific and transferable), seniority, performance, and business organizational needs. This range may also be modified in the future.
