Job Description

The Project Manager leads complex, engineered-to-order projects from kickoff through delivery, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance. This role is accountable for the full project lifecycle, working cross-functionally across engineering, operations, supply chain, and field service to deliver solutions that meet customer and contract requirements. The Project Manager drives operational discipline through our Business Management System (BMS) and manages stakeholder communication, risk mitigation, and team coordination throughout the project.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm

Accountabilities

  • This role will have regular supervision and will require the employee to escalate decisions to senior PMs or manager.
  • Own the schedule, scope, budget, and risk from start to finish.
  • Review contract documents, specifications, and scope of work at project kickoff to establish baseline requirements and identify risks or exceptions.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products that meet customer and contract requirements.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and align cross-functional teams.
  • Track progress using ERP and Master Production Schedule tools; drive corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage procurement readiness, production, testing, and shipping to meet milestones.
  • Manage scope, cost, and design changes through formal change order processes, including customer notification, internal alignment, and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate factory acceptance test (FAT) scheduling and logistics, including customer notifications, documentation packages, and pre-FAT alignment with production and quality teams.
  • Act as the primary customer contact, providing proactive updates on progress, risks, and next steps.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships by anticipating customer needs and driving responsiveness.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, supply chain, and service to resolve issues quickly.
  • Identify and mitigate risks early; escalate issues impacting delivery or cost.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure billing milestones are tracked, revenue recognition inputs are accurate, and project cost exposure is monitored throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ensure documentation meets ISO 9001 and MCG Project Management Framework standards.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Quality Control to resolve warranty and quality concerns.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across teams without direct authority.
  • Share best practices and contribute to the development of the broader PM team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Knowledge / Experience

  • 2+ years of experience managing complex, engineered-to-order manufacturing projects from kickoff through delivery.
  • Industry experience in oil and gas, marine, electrical equipment, or critical power environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (preferably IFS), scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera), and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and risk in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to manage complex, high value; strategic accounts; liquidated damages exposure
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with experience providing project updates to customers and senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO 9001 training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field.

Education

  • PMP candidacy within 18-24 months of hire.
