Role SummaryThe Service Advisor is the primary point of contact between the dealership and customers requiring vehicle maintenance or repairs. In this important role, you will coordinate service appointments, explain recommended work, prepare accurate repair orders, and ensure customers feel informed and well cared for throughout the service process.
The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You bring a genuine commitment to customer service, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build trust with customers and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities- Greet customers promptly and professionally, creating a welcoming and positive service experience.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues when preparing repair orders.
- Clearly explain service recommendations, repair requirements, estimated costs, and expected timelines.
- Provide regular updates regarding vehicle status and promptly communicate any changes.
- Collaborate with technicians, parts staff, and management to support efficient and timely service.
- Review completed work and invoices with customers, ensuring their questions and concerns are fully addressed.
- Recommend dealership services, maintenance programs, and special offers when appropriate.
- Respond to customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and with a solution-focused approach.
- Maintain accurate, organized records in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the success of the service department.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in automotive service or business administration is an asset.
- Previous experience in customer service, automotive service advising, service writing, or a related position is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance requirements, and repair processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A customer-first mindset and the ability to build positive, professional relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort using dealership management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to remain accurate, composed, and professional in a busy environment.
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
