Job Description

Red Oak Recovery Center is a clinician-run treatment program with three campuses established to serve the needs of our clients. Each campus offers a unique blend of clinical rehabilitation, 12 step addiction recovery, proven addiction therapy services, family counseling, and experiential and adventure therapy. We are seeking a Human Resources Administrative Assistant to add to our team who can offer support to our central office functions in Asheville, NC.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in professional collaboration with Performance and Quality Improvement Director, Finance Director, and Nursing Director pertaining to employee related matters
  • Assist with employee verifications
  • Assist new employees with accessing company software platforms
  • Create badges for new employees and employee transitions
  • Prepare employee onboarding information packets
  • Maintain the staff spreadsheet
  • Maintain staff photos folder
  • Maintain electronic personnel and protected folders
  • Update access and distribution lists for employee position transitions
  • Update Global Distribution List and Employee Directory
  • Ensure job descriptions for all employees
  • Remain in compliance with all assigned training and competencies
  • Completion and removals of I-9s according to federal guidelines
  • Ensure completion of onboarding checklist
  • Ensure completion of flu vaccinations or waivers
  • Maintain employee training records in personnel, internship and contractor files
  • Maintain poster compliance of federal and state regulations
  • Maintain training trackers
  • Assist CEO with travel/expense report/auditing
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1–2 years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience
  • Proficiency with basic office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Google Workspace
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and handling correspondence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage filing systems, multitask, and keep tracking logs up to date
  • Clear understanding of data privacy rules and a commitment to handling sensitive employee information discreetly


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of direct experience working in an HR department or handling basic HR duties
  • Basic understanding of local, state, and federal labor laws (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, I-9 compliance)
