The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in managing medical billing claims and ensuring accurate insurance collections, contributing directly to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and manage medical billing for various payers (Medicare, Commercial and Medicaid).
• Resolving outstanding medical insurance claims by ways of research and appeals.
• Ensure accuracy in billing by reviewing medical records, documentation and payer policies.
• Handle insurance medical collections and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in billing practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
• Ability to think independently, be self-motivated and perform duties in a precise and efficient manner.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
• Familiarity with DRG systems and medical collection processes is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.

Experience:

• 2 years medical claims experience
• Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a clinical setting.
