Job Summary
The Vice President of Finance serves as a senior enterprise leader responsible for the overall financial health, integrity, and performance of Roers Companies. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Property FP&A, ensuring financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making across all areas and business lines.
The Vice President of Finance partners closely with executive leadership to translate business strategy into financial plans, scalable systems, and operational controls that support sustainable growth. This role leads complex, multi-entity financial operations, manages significant capital flows, and ensures accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Provide executive leadership and oversight for all Accounting, Finance functions, ensuring alignment with company strategy and risk tolerance
• Lead, develop, and retain high-performing finance and accounting leaders and teams, establishing clear expectations, governance, and accountability
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial performance, capital allocation, risk management, and long-term planning
Accounting Leadership
• Oversee all accounting operations, including Property Accounting, Corporate and Development Accounting, Construction Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Yardi Administration and Support
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across all entities and projects
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and audit readiness with all tax returns and audits completed according to schedule
• Partner with Construction, Development, and Property Management leaders to ensure financial alignment across the project lifecycle
Overall ownership of accounting-based data accuracy, consistency, and useability through efficient processes
Finance Leadership
• Lead Finance functions including Treasury, Corporate Finance, Property FP&A. and Business Analysis
• Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, debt compliance, and banking relationships
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
• Provide analytical insights and performance reporting to support strategic, operational, and investment decisions
Enterprise & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Partner with executive and operational leaders to evaluate new business opportunities, market expansion, and investment decisions
• Lead financial systems strategy and optimization, ensuring scalability, data integrity, and usability
Overall ownership of finance-based data accuracy, consistency, and useability through efficient processes
Partner with Asset Management to apply financial best practices to the property FP&A teams focuse don our property-level performance
Requirements:Education
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field required
• Master’s degree (MBA or similar) preferred
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification strongly preferred
Experience and/or Training
• 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, preferably within construction, real estate development, property management, or REIT environments
• Demonstrated experience leading multi-functional finance organizations with significant scale and complexity
• Strong background in construction accounting, real estate finance, and multi-entity reporting
Competencies
•Considerable background in financial data, business intelligence tools, and leveraging data for decision making
Strong strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into executive-level insights
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial governance
• Proven people leader with experience developing senior leaders and succession pipelines
• High degree of business acumen, judgment, and professional credibility
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence at the executive and board level
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment with competing priorities
Compensation & Benefits for Vice President of Finance:
Pay Range: $170,200 - $238,700
Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role
