Bakery Associate in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do at Coastal Pacific Food Distributors

The main job of the bakery associate is to serve customers. Through the bakery department, you will be responsible for many different tasks from waiting on customers, to food preparation to filling party orders.

A bakery department, like any food service institution, needs to be kept very clean, both to maintain the quality of the food and the health of the customers, and to comply with strict food safety laws. Cleaning involves washing the dishes used in food production, cleaning counters, sweeping floors, and general maintenance of the premises.

• Part-time Position
• Pay Rate: $12.00/hr.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service, assist customers with bakery product selections, and take customer orders.
• Prepare, package, label, display, and sell bakery products, including breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and other baked goods.
• Assist with basic bakery preparation tasks, including arranging, portioning, slicing, and packaging baked goods.
• Assist customers with special orders, including birthday cakes, custom cakes, and other bakery requests.
• Handle all bakery products in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, expiration dates, and proper product rotation using FIFO procedures.
• Follow proper labeling, dating, packaging, and storage procedures for all bakery products.
• Check and maintain proper food storage and display temperatures and complete required food safety logs.
• Stock, organize, and maintain bakery shelves, display cases, and product displays, and replenish products and supplies as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized bakery preparation areas, display cases, counters, workstations, and department equipment.
• Wash and sanitize baking trays, utensils, containers, and food preparation equipment.
• Safely operate bakery equipment, including ovens, bread slicers, mixers, and other equipment as assigned.
• Follow company policies, workplace safety procedures, food safety requirements, and bakery department standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily bakery operations.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Basic Education

Experience:

• Prefer retail experience in deli/bakery departments.

Knowledge:

• Strong artistic ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders.
• Basic math skills for measuring and following recipes.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
