The Bistro at Childress Vineyards is seeking a dependable and motivated Dishwasher / Kitchen Prep to join our culinary team. This part-time position supports daily Bistro operations, assists with light food preparation, and provides kitchen support for catered events and banquets. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and is willing to assist wherever needed. Key Responsibilities • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing stations, food preparation areas, and kitchen workspaces. • Assist culinary staff with light food preparation, including washing and cutting produce, portioning ingredients, and assembling basic food items. • Assist with food preparation and kitchen setup for Bistro service, catered events, and banquets. • Support the catering team with event setup, breakdown, and kitchen-related duties. • Properly handle, label, and store food products in accordance with food safety guidelines. • Remove trash, clean floors, and maintain sanitary workstations. • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. • Perform additional kitchen and catering duties as assigned. Qualifications • Previous restaurant, commercial kitchen, or catering experience preferred, but not required. • Willingness to learn basic food preparation and kitchen procedures. • Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Positive attitude and willingness to assist with various kitchen responsibilities. • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and carrying supplies. Schedule & Availability This is a part-time position with variable hours based on business needs and scheduled events. The Bistro operates daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM; however, additional hours may be scheduled to support catering and banquet operations. • Weekly hours will fluctuate based on operational demands and event schedules. • Flexible availability is required, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. • Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week. Additional Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
