Senior Designer, Design and Strategy Concept

This role sits at the intersection of design strategy, consumer insight, and brand storytelling within a fast-paced retail environment. You will shape seasonal home concepts that guide product direction, influence owned brand identity, and connect macro trends to tangible design outcomes. Acting as both strategist and creative lead, you will translate cultural, economic, and consumer shifts into compelling visual narratives that inform cross-category development. The position requires strong collaboration across merchandising, marketing, and product design teams to ensure cohesive execution. You will also play a key role in defining seasonal direction and maintaining consistency across owned brands. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role where your work directly shapes consumer-facing product experiences. The environment is dynamic, trend-driven, and deeply focused on innovation and storytelling.

Accountabilities:

Lead the development of seasonal design strategies and conceptual direction for home categories, translating consumer insights and macro trends into actionable creative frameworks.

  • Research and synthesize macro trends, consumer behaviors, and market shifts (including economic and cultural drivers) to inform design strategy.
  • Develop forward-looking seasonal concepts that guide assortment planning, product storytelling, and cross-category alignment.
  • Act as a brand captain for assigned owned brands, ensuring consistency in identity across color, material, form, pricing, and thematic direction.
  • Collaborate across merchandising, marketing, and visual teams to ensure cohesive go-to-market execution.
  • Serve as a key connector across design teams, aligning divisional needs and ensuring strategic consistency.
  • Drive the creative translation of insights into visual storytelling, presentations, and design direction tools.
  • Support and guide team members involved in concept development and seasonal execution processes.
Requirements:

5+ years of experience in product design, concept design, or design strategy within the home or consumer goods industry.

  • Strong ability to synthesize business strategy, consumer insights, and trend research into actionable design direction.
  • Deep understanding of the home category landscape, from mass-market to premium and aspirational design.
  • Advanced skills in color, material, finish, pattern, and product aesthetics across multiple categories.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong visual storytelling, presentation, and communication skills in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and bias for action in creative and strategic contexts.
