This role is a strategic leadership position focused on building and strengthening global community partnerships that advance open knowledge initiatives and support large-scale collaborative ecosystems. You will shape and implement regional partnership strategies that directly contribute to expanding access, awareness, and participation in free knowledge projects. The position involves working across diverse geographies and cultures, ensuring alignment between global priorities and local community needs. You will lead distributed teams, guide cross-regional collaboration, and influence decision-making at a strategic level. With a strong emphasis on community-driven impact, this role blends leadership, partnership development, and operational execution. - Lead the development and execution of regional and global community partnership strategies aligned with organizational mission and long-term goals.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of strategic partnerships, including scoping, development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Manage and mentor a geographically distributed team of partnership managers across multiple time zones, ensuring alignment and performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mission-aligned partners, affiliates, and volunteer communities across global regions.
- Establish systems for measuring partnership impact, ensuring continuous learning, evaluation, and improvement.
- Drive operational excellence by improving processes, workflows, documentation, and cross-team coordination.
- Ensure consistency in partnership frameworks while adapting approaches to regional and cultural contexts.
- Contribute to leadership discussions, strategic planning, and long-term direction of the Community Partnerships function.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across teams.
- 8+ years of experience in partnership development, program management, or related fields, including people management responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading multi-regional or global partnership programs in complex, cross-cultural environments.
- Strong track record of managing and developing distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Ability to design and implement partnership strategies aligned with organizational and community-driven goals.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience balancing global frameworks with local and regional operational needs.
- Excellent strategic thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to community-driven work, open knowledge ecosystems, or nonprofit/mission-driven initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and globally distributed environments.
- Advanced degree or experience in international development, nonprofit management, public administration, or similar fields is a plus.
