This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced structural engineering professional to contribute to the development and support of advanced aerospace propulsion systems in a highly technical and collaborative environment. The role focuses on structural analysis of rotating engine hardware, supporting both production and in-service operations through advanced simulation and engineering methodologies. - Perform advanced finite element analysis (FEA) for stress, vibration, low-cycle fatigue, and fracture mechanics evaluations of rotating engine hardware using ANSYS and related tools.
- Support production and field operations by conducting structural assessments related to repairs, durability, residual life evaluation, and in-service investigations.
- Collaborate with integrated product teams to deliver engineering solutions that balance performance, cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Provide technical support to maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities through detailed aftermarket structural analysis.
- Contribute to technology advancement and process optimization initiatives while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare substantiation reports and deliver clear, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and support the technical growth of peers while effectively managing shifting priorities and project timelines.
- Participate in engineering reviews, team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with AS9100D and operational excellence standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience.
- Strong expertise in structural analysis of gas turbine rotating hardware within aerospace or related high-performance industries.
- Proficiency with FEA and engineering software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, APDL, Workbench, MATLAB, NX Teamcenter, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of gas turbine hardware, engineering drawings, manufacturing methods, and mechanical system interactions.
- Experience leading or coordinating small to medium-sized engineering teams in complex technical environments.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Programming or scripting experience with tools such as Python, VBA, C++, or Fortran is highly valued.
- Prior aerospace or gas turbine industry experience is preferred, especially within rotating components and propulsion systems.
