Job Description
If you like figuring out how things are made, enjoy working with details, and get satisfaction from turning information into something real and useful, this might be your kind of role.
At EIP, we’re a growing manufacturing company in Oberlin, OH, and we’re looking for a Junior Estimator to join our estimating team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to learn manufacturing from the inside out and build a long-term path in estimating, engineering support, or operations.
We move fast, we work hard, and we support each other along the way. You don’t need to know everything on day one—just bring curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role is all about learning how quotes come to life. You’ll help the estimating team turn drawings and customer requests into accurate, real-world manufacturing costs.
You will:
* Assist with preparing cost estimates for new and repeat manufacturing jobs
* Learn how to read blueprints, drawings, and customer specifications
* Support calculations for materials, labor, and machine time
* Work closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production teams
* Keep quote records organized and accurate
* Learn EIP’s manufacturing processes and how our shop operates
* Support the estimating team with a mix of technical and administrative tasks
* Jump in where needed—every day can look a little different
What We’re Looking For
We’re less interested in perfection and more interested in potential.
You might be a great fit if you have:
* Strong attention to detail (you notice the small stuff others miss)
* Good communication skills and a team-first mindset
* Curiosity about how things are built or manufactured
* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
* A willingness to learn blueprint reading and estimating concepts
* Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
* Manufacturing, shop, or technical experience
* Coursework or training in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial technology
* Exposure to production environments or mechanical systems
If you don’t have these, don’t worry. Training is provided for the right person.
At EIP, you’re not just filling a role—you’re building a career foundation.
You’ll get:
* Hands-on exposure to real manufacturing processes
* A supportive team that wants you to learn and grow
* A clear path to develop estimating and technical skills
* A workplace where safety matters and people actually enjoy working together
* The chance to see your work directly impact what gets built and shipped
Ready to Learn Something Real?
If you’re looking for a role where you can start simple, learn fast, and grow into something more technical and rewarding—this is it.
