Job Description

At GoBolt, we provide a technology-driven, customer-centric and sustainable approach to ecommerce and last-mile logistics for businesses of all sizes – from local brands to large national retailers. By operating as an extension of our customer's team, we deliver best-in-class services every step of the way.

We're building North America’s largest electric vehicle fleet to help bring sustainability to an industry notorious for its heavy impact on the environment. We are in high growth mode and building for the future, which is where you come in!

About the role

The mandate is real, the ownership is yours. You’ll embed directly with the teams building and running GoBolt’s logistics platform — mapping where engineering quality breaks down, where delivery pipelines have gaps, and where a well-placed technical solution unlocks scale. Sometimes that means shipping new systems. Sometimes it means redesigning how a workflow runs. Often, it means both.

Read on if you’re a senior developer who thrives at the intersection of backend depth and product ownership, and wants your fingerprints on infrastructure that moves real goods for real customers.

Salary Range: CAD$140k-160K base

This is a hybrid role based out of our Downtown Toronto office.

What you’ll do
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, ops, and data teams — deeply understanding customer workflow challenges before writing a line of code.
  • Drive product reviews from a technical lens: identifying requirements, surfacing edge cases, and making trade-off calls that keep deliveries moving.
  • Own complex technical problems end-to-end — from architecture and design through to deployment and post-ship iteration.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and tooling to improve system performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Champion engineering quality across the team — code standards, CI/CD hygiene, release processes, and the kind of code review that actually makes people better.
  • Exercise judgment on what matters most. You won’t be handed a backlog — you’ll work with engineering leadership and operators to decide what gets built and why.
  • Mentor teammates through technical discussions and knowledge sharing, raising the floor for everyone around you.
What you bring
  • 4+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong track record shipping across web and/or mobile in production environments.
  • Fluency in one or more of JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, React, Node.js or Nest.js — and a genuine willingness to learn what the problem requires.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines that real teams depend on.
  • A genuine collaborator with non-engineers — you can sit in an ops sync, ask the right questions, and translate what you hear into shippable solutions.
  • Bias for shipping in the weeds. You make judgment calls, close loops yourself, and move work forward without waiting for perfect clarity.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You can take a vague “this workflow is broken” and walk out with a concrete diagnosis, a path, and an outcome.
  • Strong ownership mindset — you communicate blockers early, hold yourself to a high bar, and act like it’s your name on the output.
  • AI-first mindset. You’ve already evolved how you work through AI tools and are looking for a place to keep pushing that forward.
  • Bonus points for experience in 3PL, transportation, logistics, or supply chain.
