Apex Industries is currently recruiting for an Inventory Control Clerk to join our Product Development and Automation Group. Reporting to the Procurement and Inventory Lead this role is critical to maintaining build efficiency, inventory accuracy, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications & Experience
Apex Industries is currently recruiting for an Inventory Control Clerk to join our Product Development and Automation Group. Reporting to the Procurement and Inventory Lead this role is critical to maintaining build efficiency, inventory accuracy, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Cycle Counts
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for mechanical, electrical, and optical components used in machine assembly.
- Perform regular cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Track stock levels and proactively identify shortages or overages.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and organized according to established standards.
Kitting & Material Support
- Prepare and kit parts, hardware, and consumables for machine assemblies and subassemblies based on BOMs and work orders.
- Stage kits and materials to support production schedules and build priorities.
- Work closely with assemblers and lead-hands to ensure material availability and resolve shortages quickly.
Shipping & Receiving
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and condition, and process receipts in the ERP system.
- Coordinate internal material movement from receiving to stockroom or point of use.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation, in accordance with shipping requirements.
- Support freight coordination and carrier interactions as needed.
Purchasing & Consumables Ordering
- Monitor and replenish consumables and spare parts orders.
- Generate purchase requisitions or place orders for consumables and stock items per established procedures.
- Track open orders and follow up on late or incomplete deliveries.
Sales Order & Invoice Processing
- Support sales order processing by issuing materials and recording transactions accurately.
- Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and receiving records.
- Post invoices and assist accounting or supply chain teams with discrepancies or clarifications.
Documentation & System Accuracy
- Accurately process inventory transactions including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments in the ERP system.
- Maintain organized records for inventory, shipping, and purchasing activities.
- Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of stockroom processes.
Safety, Quality, & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom and receiving area.
- Follow safety procedures related to lifting, material handling, and equipment operation.
- Ensure materials are handled and stored to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with assembly, engineering, purchasing, and accounting teams to support production needs.
- Interact with our customers for sales orders, spare parts pricing, and warranty claims.
- Communicate clearly regarding material status, shortages, and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to a team-oriented culture focused on reliability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma and equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in inventory control, stockroom, or warehouse operations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organized and process-driven approach.
- Ability to manage materials, records, and transactions accurately.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills.
